In case you encounter an issue with any of your save files, it's possible to revert to a previous save by doing the following:
during time-of-day transitions between chapters. if you are in the vicinity of a manually-activated scene (even if said scene isn't currently playing). while a scene is playing, or for up to 20 seconds after the end of a scene. Please note that the manual save system will not be available: Steam will then download an update for the game. Click on the "CLOSE" button at the bottom of the window. Under "Select the beta you would like to opt into:", select "map_save". In the Properties window, click on the "BETAS" tab. In your Steam Library, right-click on "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture". Since this is a "beta" feature, it is only available by opting in to the "beta" branch of the game on Steam. Whilst we have tested it internally without any observed issues, your mileage may vary. 
Please note that this is a big change to the game, which wasn't designed with this feature in mind. Manual save pointsSeparate to this patch, we have also implemented a new "beta" feature that allows players to manually save at every framed map in the game world.
